Crayon covered seashells

Today we tried a new project and it was fun! First time we had some complications along the way, but got better at the end.

So we will need
- seashells
- crayons
- plate
- mittens
- foil.

I laid an old dish towel on the table, baking sheet over it and then foil. Towel at the bottom was to protect the table from scratching and foil is to catch melted crayons.

                                                                    Prep

Place few seashells at the time on a microwave safe plate and heat them up. For some seashells it took only 30-40 seconds, for other 2 minutes. Just keep checking.
As soon as seashells out of microwave start coloring. When crayon touches this hot seashell it will start melting. But be careful, seashell will be hot.  The hotter it is, the better will crayon melt. It took a while for Emily to understand how to hold it and not get burn, but she got it.

After coloring let it sit for a few minutes. Again, depends on what kind of seashells do you have.

Don't do too many seashells at the same time as they cool off very fast and crayon won't melt. We had to re-heat some few times. Crayola brand crayons worked the best for us, some other wasn't as smooth as Crayola.
