Pressure cooker - chicken and potato

Now I am a proud owner of the Instant Pot pressure cooker! I only have it for about a week now and I am in love with this device. I would even call it "must have" for every kitchen.
How many times we come home and dinner takes to long to cook and you don't have that much time? Boiled potato in 5 minutes? Chicken drumsticks or  thighs in 20? Full rotisserie chicken done in 30!
I did not try many dishes yet, but everything we tried - was good!

This was our first dinner from the Instant Pot
Chicken  thighs with potatoes
Ingredients
potato
chicken  thighs (or drumsticks)
onion
carrot
salt, pepper, spices
oil

Step 1
Add a little bit of oil in the pot, place chopped onions and turn the setting on Meat and set manual time to 5 minutes. This is enough time for potato and chicken to be fully cooked. While the lid is open timer won't start and will be just frying anything in it. This is exactly what we need for this onions.

Step 2
Fry onion for 2-3 minutes and then add carrots. You can use shredded or cut it in chunks,  it doesn't matter. Fry it until cooked, for me it took around 4 minutes, maybe less.

Step 3
Place chicken thighs in the pot and add spices. Fry it for about 3-5 minutes.

Step 4
After chicken is done frying, add peeled and cut up potato and pour water over. For 7 mid sized potatoes I used a little less then 2 cups of water, but next time will go down to only 1 cup. It's best to pour hot water, like this your pot will pressurize faster. Close the lid and seal the went. Your part is done. It takes couple of minutes to pressurize the pot (it will do it automatically)  and then your 5 minutes timer will start. It didn't take long at all!

Step 5
If you in a hurry you can manually vent it or let it do naturally if you have time ( 5-8 minutes).
Dinner is ready!
It was soooo good! Chicken is nice and juicy!
